Metta Yoga and Meditation

Stand Your Ground

Standing poses provide the foundation upon which to build a yoga practice. Physiologically, these postures strengthen the leg muscles, keep the joints lubricated and the spine long and flexible, and increase circulation in the lower body.

Balance Life's Challenges

But they do more than that. These postures give us the strength, stability and flexibility we need to meet life's challenges.

They allow us to stand our ground yet be receptive to what is, to what we see and feel.

Stand Your Ground in Warrior One (Virabhadrasana I)

Embrace the World Around Us

With our feet firmly on the ground, we can expand our reach and feel safe enough to open our arms and our hearts to the world around us.

Practice your standing poses this week, moving in and out of them as smoothly as silk. No jerky movements, only the opportunity to explore.

Eagle Pose (Garudasana)

"The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipte troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly."
~ The Buddha
