Jan Byrd is the owner of Metta Yoga Studio and a certified yoga instructor who received her certification from the Temple of Kriya Yoga in Chicago in May 2007. She is a registered teacher with Yoga Alliance. Jan came to yoga hoping to discover a way to reverse the physical and mental effects of an increasing sedentary lifestyle and found much more. Kimberly Burris began practicing yoga eight years ago in a variety of venues, but it was when she began practicing with Erin Smith and Rosemary Pierson-Rosenthal that she was inspired to pursue a more in depth study of Hatha Yoga. Kimberly received her certification from The Om Place in Winchester, Kentucky in June of 2009. She is a registered teacher with Yoga Alliance. She hopes to teach adults in the evenings and utilize yoga practice techniques with the middle school students she works with during the day. {more} |

Audrey Black is a certified yoga instructor who received her certification from YogaFit in 2006. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance. Because Vinyasa (Flow) style yoga is her choice to share, you will find Audrey's classes active and energetic, but yet very much what she calls a mindful “moving meditation” kind of practice. Leigh Gaitskill began studying yoga in 1986. She studied for five years with Bill Hunt and in 1988 earned a teaching certificate from the Temple of Kriya Yoga in Chicago. During those years she was introduced to meditation and metaphysics by a transpersonal psychologist. In 1990, Leigh completed the Nine Gates Mystery School course, went on to study Huna, completed the Fisher-Hoffman Process, explored Buddhist practices and sat vipassana, and worked with Hopi Elder Jeremie Jackson for two years. {more} |

Brent has been practicing Buddhism for eleven years. He has studied in the Tibetan, Zen and Theravada traditions and is a former member of the Lexington Shambhala Center. Though his practice most closely resembles that found in the Theravada lineage, Brent considers himself a spiritual mutt due to his acceptance of what is practical and logical in Buddhism, regardless of what school it comes from. {more} |
