| HATHA YOGA |
Hatha Yoga refers to physical postures (asanas), and sequences of asanas, designed to focus your mind on alignment of muscles and bones while coordinating movement of your body with your breath.
Students receive individualized attention while learning and practicing traditional poses, the importance of linking the breath with movement, and the use of props to assist with alignment, balance and stability, enabling you to enjoy the full benefits of a pose with ease while your body gains in strength and flexibility.
The practice of Hatha Yoga emphasizes a balance between strength and flexibility,
builds endurance and develops self-awareness through precision in movement and attention to subtle aspects of posture and breath, releasing stress and tension throughout the body.

| INTRODUCTION TO YOGA (BEGINNER) |
A great place to begin, renew or continue your yoga practice. You will learn and practice basic asanas (postures), including fundamentals of alignment and breathing. You will experience different styles of yoga; including deep stretch yin, hatha, restorative, and flow. The classes will be suited to beginners, but those with experience are welcome, too. No prior yoga experience is necessary.
|
| HATHA FLOW YOGA |
Hatha Flow links the postures practiced in a regular Hatha class into a sequence of movements that "flow" with the breath, moving from one posture to another with very little rest in between.
Variations on Sun Salutation are often used as a warm-up, followed by a standing sequence, balancing poses, then seated poses, and relaxation ends the class. Hatha Flow is recommended for students who have practiced Hatha Yoga and are interested in exploring a more movement-oriented class. Hatha Flow builds strength, endurance, and a strong focus.
Hatha Flow classes are best suited for students who:
* Have practiced Hatha Yoga for at least one month
* Are familiar with Sun Salutations
* Have practiced inversion postures (such as headstand, shoulder stand) or are willing to try
* Seek a stronger physical yoga practice
|
| GENTLE HATHA FLOW YOGA |
Similar to Hatha Flow except that the pace is slower with more opportunity for rest between poses.
|
| DEEP STRETCH YOGA (YIN) |
This class will take you into the deepest connective tissue, fascia, ligaments and tendons, gently encouraging lengthening in these tissues and openness in the hip, shoulder, knee, ankle and other joints in the body. It is critical to body flexibility and mobility, especially as we age, to gently, methodically and continuously bring movement, openness and length to these vital body tissues and areas. No prior yoga experience necessary.
|
| RELAX & RENEW RESTORATIVE YOGA |
Restorative yoga allows you to experience hatha yoga postures from a different perspective. It is the gift of receiving postures rather than initiating them that leaves you with profound relaxing of the body and mind. These relaxing postures are fully supported by blankets, bolsters and other props and are held for several minutes to invite release and enhance breath awareness. Each posture reduces the effects of chronic stress related diseases and deep fatigue, and the careful sequencing of the postures assures your experience of the deepest relaxation possible. Perfect for individuals looking for stress relief, suffering from illness, injury or major life changes, and is also ideal for a very gentle introduction to yoga techniques. No prior yoga experience necessary.
|
| YOGA NIDRA |
Yoga Nidra is a systematic and powerful technique where you will learn to relax consciously, experiencing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation at the deepest level. With your first experience of Yoga Nidra you will bring your awareness to a place of stillness, peace and insight. No prior experience necessary.
Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra are more restful than conventional sleep.
20 minutes in a relaxation posture is known to be more restful than 2 hours of sleep.

| EXPLORING THE PRACTICE OF MEDITATION |
A typical session may include practicing yoga poses to enhance sitting for meditation, breathing practices to promote inward focus and attention, as well as guided meditation practices and discussions on topics of interest to the group. The intention of this class is to provide an ongoing opportunity for the practice of group meditation. All are welcome. Come for the entire time or whatever time you have available.
|
| CANDLELIGHT YOGA |
Lots of candles, soothing music, candle gazing and mindfulness meditations. A special time of relaxing, refreshing and restoration. Gentle hatha yoga postures by candlelight, including deep stretch yin yoga and restorative yoga postures to sooth the senses, unwind and de-stress. No prior yoga experience necessary.
