We explore poses in a unique fashion, using props such as blankets, blocks, bolsters, belts and chairs, that enables everyone to gain benefit from the practice of hatha yoga, regardless of age, ability and level of fitness.
Classes at Metta Yoga Studio are lead by certified instructors who received extensive training in Chicago's premier school of yoga, the Temple of Kriya Yoga, which for over three decades has been a leader in providing high-quality, in-depth training for those who aspire to teach yoga.
The hatha yoga classes at Metta Yoga Studio emphasize a balance between strength and flexibility, build endurance and develop self-awareness through precision in movement and attention to subtle aspects of posture and breath.

What is "Metta"?

Metta, from the ancient language of Pali, translates into English as loving kindness, generosity, fellowship, peace and harmony. Metta is a strong and unselfish wish for the well being and happiness of others, and evokes within a warm-hearted feeling of compassion and all-embracing love that grows boundless with practice and overcomes all barriers.
It is in this spirit that Metta Yoga Studio exists today as the outward expression of the devotion and passion we have for the practice of yoga, and the way in which it is our desire to bring this life-transforming practice to others.
